Ability
Description
Lewis' ability consists in the use of mirrors. Can be used for teleportation, catoptromancy (using reflective surfaces to see people or objects far away from the user) and distance communication, or use and manipulate a world inside mirrors. The abitity is based on the existence of the world inside the mirrors, the Wonderland. Within this world lives Alice, the manifestation of Lewis’s ability, functioning as her counterpart.
➜ Teleport: the user needs to enter in the Wonderland, and there, look for a mirror where they want to go. If Lewis wants to transport someone, Alice pulls the person into the mirror and guides them.
➜Catoptromancy: when laying her hand on a mirror, Lewis can ask Alice to look for something, and she directs the reflection of the mirror to a mirror from where Lewis can see the thing in question. She can also go into The Wonderland and find someone distant with whom she wants to talk, and enter the reflection of a mirror nearby.
➜Wonderland: a dimension similar to an infinite wide hall with several mirrors on the walls where Alice lives. This dimension connects mirrors from all over the world, and also serves as a refuge or prison, because only those authorized by Lewis and Alice can enter or leave.
➜ The ability is limited by the use of existing mirrors, by size and Lewis can be injured if the mirror she in which is damaged. Using the ability with multiple people requires a lot from the user
Derivation
The ability is a reference to Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There, books by the real-life Lewis Carroll that were published in 1865 and 1871.
Background
Early Years
Prior to her birth, Lewis parents were expecting a boy, so when she was born, her parents convince themselves that she couldn't be their baby, especialy by her appearence. Since they were going to name the baby Charles, they named her "Charlie" Lutwidge Dodgson. Often she was left alone, and soon she manifested her ability. Alice was her only family or friend that cared about her, and the Wonderland her only safe place. It's unknown when her parents died, but she was taken to an orphanate that belonged to the british government with 7 years. There, she met Beatrix Potter, that quickly becamed her best friend.
MI6
Ten years ago, both of them were accepted in the MI6, the british secret military intelligence that works allong with the Order of the Clock Tower, under the comand of Ian Flemming, also known as agent 007. She got the codename agent Alice, but started to call herself Lewis Carroll, a word-play with her birth name. During the seven years she was on MI6, Ian was a father figure to her (even though they are close in age) , and she became a lot closer to Beatrix.
Three years ago, an incident occured with the Inklings, another organization affiliated with the Order of the Clock Tower. Both groups were sent on the same mission to identify and capturate two ability users by mistake, and it ended up with a singulatiry caused by , that resul in many injured and dead, including Ian. Lewis and Beatrix defected shortly after the incident when they realized that the two groups had been sent on purpose to cause a singularity, knowing the consequences that could arise. Both were taken by a mysterious person with a cloak to the recent founded Dead Poets Society, made for people with abilitys who need to hide their identidies or protection.
